Self-catering Accommodation In Student Residences
Accommodation is available at our Cornwall Campus in purpose-built, self-catered accommodation, known as Glasney Parc. Each room is furnished to a very high standard, including a double bed, safe, telephone and data points (both the latter are subject to separate contracts and charges). The en-suite facilities include a shower cubicle, toilet, basin, heated towel rail and cabinet. The communal areas are modern in design with two fridge freezers, iron and ironing board, oven, hob, microwave, television/video, water heater, table and chairs and notice boards.

All rooms are single occupancy and subject to a legally binding agreement.

Terms of Contract
Rent includes all utility bills and contents insurance cover for the room. Payments are broken down into three terms: Autumn, Spring and Summer. Fees are due at the beginning of each term and you can pay for all your accommodation in one payment at the beginning of the academic year, if you prefer. Contracts are available for 40, 41, or 51 weeks.

Leaving Glasney before the end of the Residences Agreement

Contractually you are legally bound to pay the charges for the full period as stated. If you decided to leave the accommodation before your Residences Agreement expires, you will remain liable for the charges until a suitable replacement student (one who is not already in Tremough Campus accommodation, or who has not been expelled from Tremough Campus accommodation) takes over the remainder of your Residences Agreement.

Contract lengths and fieldtrips/study placements

You should be aware that if you decide to leave the accommodation for placements, fieldtrips or any other reason during the period outlined in your agreement, you will be liable to pay rent on the residence during your absence, unless you have made prior arrangements with the Tremough Campus Accommodation Office and they have given you written confirmation of any remission of rent. Please also ensure that you check your period of residence outlined in your agreement against the dates your programme of study starts and finishes. Unfortunately it cannot be guaranteed that both will coincide.

Accommodation Guarantee

The University guarantees to offer a place in University owned accommodation for the first year of study to all full-time, unaccompanied international* students subject to the following conditions:

• You have firmly accepted our offer of a place on a degree programme at the University of Exeter’s Cornwall Campus
• You are a new unaccompanied international student entering into Year 1 of an undergraduate programme who has applied for accommodation and paid their deposit of £300 by 31 August 2009
• You are a new unaccompanied international postgraduate student from outside the EU in your first year of study that has applied and paid their deposit of £300 by 31 July 2009.
• You are a new unaccompanied study abroad, exchange or Erasmus student attending the University of Exeter Cornwall Campus for the full academic year that has applied and paid their deposit of £300 by 31 July 2009.

Students who apply after the above deadlines may apply for University owned accommodation which will be allocated to them if places are available. Where places are not available, the Accommodation Office will provide assistance in finding alternative accommodation.

* You are defined as an ‘international’ student only if you pay international fees (see your offer letter).

Private Sector Accommodation

If you decide not to live on campus, but prefer a more independent lifestyle, the Tremough Campus Accommodation Office can provide a list of properties to rent in the private sector.

Accommodation for Families – IMPORTANT INFORMATION

At the present time the University is unable to provide University-owned family accommodation at the University of Exeter's Cornwall Campus at Tremough. Therefore we strongly recommend that students come to the Cornwall Campus on their own in the first instance, and send for their family only when they have found suitable accommodation in the private sector – please see Private Sector Accommodation information above. Students who ignore this advice could find themselves staying in a hotel for several weeks with their families, which would be extremely expensive.
