We are proud to be integral to a number of key partnerships which bring together expertise in dementia towards the goal of translating research into care. Our ethos puts people affected by dementia at the heart of our research.

We are collaborators in the Alzheimer’s Research UK Oxford Drug Discovery Unit with particular interests in profiling (epi)genomic changes in cells exposed to novel compounds. We contribute to the dementia identification work of the Dementias Platform UK and are progressing the inclusion of two major studies including the SUMMIT vascular cohort.

External investment has already allowed us to establish in Exeter an Alzheimer’s Society Doctoral Training Centre and a National Institute for Health Research funded Research Capacity in Dementia Care Programme for PhD studentships as well as a new Alzheimer’s Research UK Network Centre (with Plymouth University) and an Ageing and Dementia collaboration across Exeter, Cardiff, Bristol and Bath Universities (GW4). Our involvement with Join Dementia Research, a large cohort of people who have committed to be involved in dementia-related research, means we can swiftly facilitate large-scale clinical trials.

As one of the top global universities in the world with over 100 researchers working in dementia, we have the expertise to make a real impact in this escalating world health challenge. With your support we can accelerate the pace of discovery to tackle this terrible condition.
