Corporate Events

The Events team works to support the University’s Corporate Strategy, through the organisation and delivery of high profile events specialising in corporate, alumni and research focused events across Exeter and Cornwall.

This includes:

  • Vice-Chancellor lead events
  • Royal/Ministerial visits
  • Building openings – LSI, SERFS, Penryn Sports Centre,
  • VIP guest lecturers and events held at the Palace of Westminster

For Exeter campus events, we also work closely with Event Exeter, the University’s dedicated Conference and Event team. Similarly, for events in Cornwall, we work with FX Plus in Penryn who provide a conference and events service.

Who we are

Head of Corporate Events

I lead the Events team and oversee the organisation and management of high profile corporate events to support the University’s strategic objections. This includes Royal and Ministerial visits, VIP guest lecturers, University building openings, and events for the Vice-Chancellor. I manage the organisation of private dinners and receptions held at the Vice-Chancellor’s residence, plus the Annual Stakeholder Garden Party circa 350 guests. I administer the nomination and selection process of Honorary Graduates, and organise their visit to the University to receive their Honorary Doctorate during graduation week. I also support student societies in organising a visit programme for high profile guest speakers.

Events Manager

I organise a wide range of alumni events, visits, and engagements to enable Global Engagement and Development (GED) to achieve our strategic objectives. I deliver a range of key events throughout the year, but also provide professional advice for alumni events that are delivered by GED colleagues working in colleges to ensure the consistency in standard, style and approach of University events is maintained.

GED events range from larger scale events of circa 250 people to small level cultivation dinners. Most of the events take place in London. I act as the central contact for events delivered by the wider University where alumni are attending.

I work part-time over three days.

Events Manager 

I support Research Services and Innovation, Impact, and Business to deliver key research and business-focused initiatives through events. I lead on institutional level events focused on impact and research, support key external-facing impact-driven events/workshops, and deliver high profile events such as research centre launches. I can also offer advice on other events, including conferences or workshops where we do not directly support the project.

Events Officer

I work within the Corporate Events team, supporting two of the University’s professional service departments; Research Services, and Innovation, Impact, and Business. I manage the design and delivery of a wide portfolio of events and visits, supporting key research and business-focused initiatives.

The Research Services, and Innovation, Impact, and Business events team manage approximately 90 events a year including; conferences, workshops, dinners, guest lectures and VIP visits.

My working days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Events Officer

I work within the events team, supporting Research Services and Innovation, Impact, and Business. I manage and coordinate a wide range of events and visits, supporting key research and business-focused initiatives.

The Research Services, and Innovation, Impact, and Business events team manage approximately 90 events a year including; conferences, workshops, dinners, guest lectures and VIP visits.

Events Officer (Cornwall)

I am the lead professional supporting the activities of the University in relation to organising, facilitating and providing professional advice for a broad range of events undertaken to support our business in Cornwall.

As well as stand-alone events, my remit also includes delivering events associated with sponsorship packages and external collaborations. Most of the events I am involved with are for VIPs; including local Town and Gown dignitaries, stakeholders, business community and benefactors, as well as staff celebrations.

I work part-time over four days, school term-time.

Administrative Assistant (Corporate Events)

I support the Head of Corporate Events in the organisation and delivery of corporate events. Primarily, my role is focused on the administration of events that take place at the Vice-Chancellor’s residence, Redcot. This includes supporting the Vice-Chancellor’s Annual Garden Party. I also help to facilitate VIP visits to the University, and assist in arrangements for graduation ceremonies, particularly regarding Honorary Graduates.

 

University of Exeter Business School (vacancy)

This role primarily supports the organisation of corporate facing events hosted by the Business School. These include the Exeter Leaders Forum, corporate and alumni events, corporate facing MBA Events in Exeter and London. Student recruitment based events like Open Days, Offer-holder visit days are not part of this role.
