We want to help the University unleash its potential. Working in an agile way, we will test and champion new working models that push the boundaries of inclusivity, location, and flexibility. Our department is made up of core teams, called chapters.

The Business Chapter leads on the Digital Strategy; setting the direction and securing funding. The chapter is also responsible for communication and engagement so that everyone knows about the strategy, how it will benefit them and how they can get involved.
The Design Chapter, comprised of UX researchers, user experience and content designers, employ user-centered design principles to help understand user needs, ideate, prototype and test - putting our users at the heart of everything we create.
The Product Chapter work to solve real user problems in a way that meets the needs of the organisation by combining research, data, design and technology. We are responsible for the product vision and strategy which supports the Digital Strategy but most importantly for creating products that our users love to use.
The Business Intelligence team works with departments across the University to collect, analyse and communicate data in a meaningful way. You can find out more about who we are and what we do by visiting the ‘About the BI Team’ page of the MI Hub.
Led by Emily Prevatt, the Operations Chapter exists to ensure that everyone within Digital has the tools and support needed to execute the Digital Strategy efficiently. We work hand-in-hand with every chapter and squad to simplify and coordinate administrative processes across the department, helping to enable everybody to do their jobs effectively.
We strive to create high-quality software applications and services with an emphasis on cloud technologies and agile development. We design the services and architecture to support secure, open and scalable solutions to meet the business requirements and user needs. We employ DevOps practices to automate the integration, testing, and deployment of our solutions. By continually focusing on our integration and deployment strategies, we seek more efficient software delivery and a high-delivery platform for creative solutions.
We facilitate teams to work in a more agile way. We help move from a command-and-control structure to request-and-respond so that teams collaboratively create value without friction. We encourage failing fast so we can adapt and realise value earlier in development. We support the development of high-performing software development teams.
