This Directorate is responsible for identifying and supporting key partnerships with leading global institutions and helping the University build long-term relationships with its alumni and supporters.
Global Engagement and Development is currently working on the University's largest ever fundraising Campaign, 'Making the Exceptional Happen', which aims to raise £60 million and 60,000 volunteering hours by 2020.
The Campaign aims to grow research in four key areas: Health, Living Systems, Environment and Sustainability, and Society and Culture, as well as supporting students to achieve their potential through scholarships, bursaries, sports and enhancing employability.

Exeter is at the forefront of global collaboration. We engage with partners overseas on issues of global importance, ranging from climate change, aging and dementia, international security, diabetes and many others. By encouraging our students and staff to develop meaningful engagement with their overseas counterparts, the research and teaching of the University of Exeter is enhanced and has worldwide impact. This global reach gives our students and faculty wide-ranging opportunities to develop their academic talents and to foster world class collaborations.

Development and alumni relations
More than 140,000 Exeter alumni are spread across the world, and many remain closely involved in supporting the University. Generous gifts of time and money from our alumni and supporters help our students get the most from their time at university, and succeed after graduation. View our latest Thank You Report for our supporters' stories. We also help alumni connect through a programme of UK and international events, and through alumni networks.
