The University enters into many awards across all its colleges, departments and affiliated member groups.

Here are a selection of the other awards that the University has applied for, which are awards aimed for people from minority protected characteristic groups.

Blossom Awards

The Blossom Awards celebrate the success and contribution of the British-Chinese Community to our national life. Founded by Alan Mak and Cathy Watts, the Awards bring together the nation’s leaders and influencers to recognise inspirational achievers from one of the UK’s most-established, patriotic and successful communities.

The Awards promote the participation of British-Chinese people in all aspects of our national life and aim to positively shape the narrative around their contributions whilst challenging outdated stereotypes.

Nominations are open Monday 6 April-Friday 12 June 2020.

Black British Business Awards

Black British Business Awards are the only premium awards programme that recognises, rewards and celebrates exceptional performance and outstanding achievements of black people in businesses operating in the UK.

The BAME Inspirational Women’s Award

The IWA celebrate the successes of women of colour across the UK from grassroots to governmental level, paying tribute to those who have championed a range of causes and fought for the rights and dignity of women both within and outside their own communities on local, regional and national levels. The awards recognise and celebrate the importance of diversity and the respect for human rights. Every individual has the right to live their life freely, without fear of being targeted because of their identity – irrespective of disability, faith, transgender identity, or sexual orientation. Therefore, the awards are open to women of colour, women of colour with a trans experience, trans women of colour, and non-binary (genderqueer) people of colour.
