The NIHR Exeter Clinical Research Facility (CRF) is a partnership between the University of Exeter Medical School and the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. It is dedicated to facilitating clinical and translational research.
Clinical trials and facilities
The NIHR Exeter Clinical Research Facility (NIHR Exeter CRF) partners with the Exeter Clinical Trials Unit (ExeCTU) to provide seamless services that translates design, management and delivery of healthcare studies into real world health benefit to the community.
The CRF is a partnership between the University of Exeter Medical School and the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust, meaning researchers are answering questions that arise in clinic. It means patient cohorts can be recruited directly via the NHS. The CRF also runs the Exeter 10,000 programme, which has more than 10,000 signed up, all of whom have given lifestyle information and donated blood and urine samples to take part in medical research.
Our expertise in trial methodology, including research methods and trial management has resulted in ground-breaking results and innovative treatments for several forms of diabetes.
