Supporting research into the treatment and genetics of diabetes is a key element of our ‘Making the Exceptional Happen’ fundraising campaign.
‘Making the Exceptional Happen’ is the University of Exeter’s most ambitious philanthropy campaign to date, aiming to raise £60 million and 60,000 volunteering hours by 2020.
Diabetes is one of today’s greatest health challenges, with around 415 million adults worldwide estimated to have disease. A figure that is expected to reach 642 million by 2040. In the UK four million people are living with diabetes, with an estimated 549,000 more living undiagnosed.
Your support will help us to increase the impact of the University of Exeter Medical School, improving diagnosis and developing innovative treatments for people with diabetes around the world.
