EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Engineering for the Water Sector (STREAM)

STREAM is the Industrial Doctoral Centre for the Water Sector. STREAM enables researchers to develop new and innovative solutions to problems encountered by engineers, chemists and operators. This this industry-driven approach to research enables the partners to offer a degree programme that is informed by the knowledge and skills needs of the water sector.

The STREAM EngD Engineering programme partnership provides postgraduate-level technical and transferable skills training at five leading UK universities in the water research field. It is coordinated and managed by Cranfield University; the partners are Imperial College London and the Universities of Exeter, Sheffield and Newcastle. The EngD is a four year research degree awarded for industrially relevant research which provides a more vocationally oriented approach to obtaining a doctorate. STREAM also offers a PhD variant as well as the EngD.

Students on the programme are awarded a degree certificate from the university at which they are registered, although all students spend an initial period of study at Cranfield with the majority of the programme on an industrial placement.

Full information on the programme and funding available can be found on the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences EngD Engineering webpages.
