Each year you are required to review and update your training needs analysis form with your supervisor. This should be completed within the first couple of weeks at the start of the academic year and should be uploaded to MyPGR. 

Each year as well as reviewing and updating your training needs analysis form you are also required to review and update your supervisory agreement form. This should be completed within the first couple of weeks of the start of the academic year and should then be uploaded to MyPGR.

Each year it is your responsibility to make sure you have completed all the mandatory training which can be found on ELE. This training can be accessed online, and includes:

• Information Governance and Security
• Research Integrity
• Health and Safety
• Equality and Diversity

Depending on your research area, you may also be required to attend our face-to-face healthy and safety training. You can access the online mandatory training on our ELE page- please screenshot your score as proof.

If you have not already done so before you start university, it is important to consider the advice, information and support available to you if you experience any of the following:

• Specific learning difficulty
• Mental Health difficulty for at least a year
• Physical disability
• A long-term medical condition

In some instances it is essential that we make arrangements for elements of your support before you arrive, i.e. if you require specific support and equipment to be in place when you start; or you need adjustments to your accommodation and/or exams.

You can contact the Wellbeing Services teams at any point during your studies. View further details and contact information on the Health and welfare page. 

If you have a disability, specific learning disability or a health condition and you have not already filled out Wellbeing Services’ Prospective Student online form to let us know about your support needs, please consider doing so. This will allow Wellbeing Services to discuss your support needs with you, in order to set up an Individual Learning Plan that may include exam adjustments. Please note, any previous exam adjustments you have had will not automatically continue at the University. If you have any questions, please contact Wellbeing Services.

We have a wide range of training courses and professional development opportunities available to postgraduate researchers across the University of Exeter to enable to build your own professional development programme. Depending on your stage of study, you may wish to consider undertaking training on analysing your data, or disseminating your research. You can find our full training on our website.

We offer an ever-expanding library collection. We prioritise provision of materials in digital format wherever possible to ensure maximum access to our materials. We can advise you on where to look and how to search, as well as provide more tailored support in accessing research databases and content.

LibGuides
The comprehensive LibGuides collection covers all library-related information. The dedicated PGR LibGuide contains information specific to Postgraduate researchers.

Subject Guides
Your Subject Guide is the gateway to Library Resources and support. It contains the key databases and information sources for your subject alongside essential library skills.

Obtaining items from outside of the library collections
You can request Inter-Library Loans from other academic libraries via the Document Delivery service or request books for purchase using the Student Book Suggestion Scheme.

Our online tutorials provide training and the hands-on experience of using our resources. They can be found in the Module/Course guides section here.

Depositing your thesis
Your completed thesis will need to be deposited into the University online repository.  Information on this process can be found here.
