Overview

Asmaa was a Renewable Energy PhD scholar from 2018 to 2021 in the Environment and Sustainability Institute, College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical sciences. Her PhD was funded by Newton-Mosharafa Fund, which is a UK-Egypt partnership program for postgraduate scholarships. Her PhD study focussed on researching high concentrating photovoltaics. Her research resulted in several journal articles and conferences. Now, Asmaa is working as an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Power Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Port Said University, Egypt.

In 2010, Asmaa was graduated with Excellent, first class with Honours from the Mechanical Power Engineering Department in the faculty of Engineering, Port Said University, Egypt. Therefore, she was offered a tenure track position right after her graduation in the same department in 2011. After obtaining her MSc, in 2016, she was promoted to be a research and teaching assistant in the same department. In Italy, Asmaa joined the Energy Department in the Polytechnic di Torino as a research fellow before starting her PhD in the UK.

Research Interests: Renewable Energy, Solar Energy, Concentrated Solar Technologies,  Photovoltaics, Desalination, Sustainability, Thermal Process Engineering, and Heat Transfer.
