Sustainability

Event Exeter’s unique portfolio of venues are fully integrated within the University of Exeter’s sustainability policy.

We have dedicated Sustainability and Energy Managers who are constantly striving to improve methods of saving water, energy and reducing waste.

One million pounds is currently being invested in cost effective energy saving projects, and all new builds on the campus are subject to strict energy saving guidelines.

We also have our own Procurement Team whose aim is to deliver good value and sustainability in all its acquisitions, from locally sourced food items to operational equipment.

For guests travelling to our venues, we encourage the use of public transport or car sharing where possible.  For events taking place in our venues, we like to draw attention to our recycling facilities and also energy saving practices.

In June 2012, Campus Services, the department which Event Exeter belongs to at the University, was awarded the ISO14001 certification for its Environmental Management System. The IS04001 accreditation highlights the robust policies and procedures in place which allow the Service to clearly demonstrate its improvements in environmental performance. The ISO14001 certification looks at all aspects of the organisation, from legal requirements through to grounds management, environmental communication, construction and refurbishment.
