Hanife

Hanife from London is studying History. She attended the Exeter Scholars summer school in the summer of year 12, coming from an area which qualified as low participation in Higher Education.

I came for an Open Day and liked the campus and the city. It’s very easy to spend your time researching the university online, but visiting the place in person can definitely solidify your opinion on it. Being from London I wanted to study somewhere different and I liked how homely it felt.

History has always been my favourite subject. Exeter Scholars gave me a good insight into university life and my interest in the University of Exeter’s History course structure and module choice encouraged me to apply. I have thoroughly enjoyed diving deeper into medieval periods that I was unable to cover at school. The wide range of module choices allowed me to study a range of time periods and topics, and I have been given the opportunity to learn a new language which I am thoroughly enjoying. I would recommend the University of Exeter to anyone who would like to be taken out of their comfort zone. I have learnt a lot about myself by attending this institution.
