"I was very fortunate to have some inspiring coaches at a young age, especially John Shaw and Martin Foxhall at my former club, Southgate. Also, from around the age of four, I would go with my brother to watch both my parents play their matches. My enjoyment has only increased since hitting a ball around on the sideline and in the garden.

"It can be difficult to manage both studying and training. You have to be organised so that you can make the most of slightly quieter weeks in order to not have to cram work whilst trying to still perform at training camps and matches. Little things like cooking meals in advance and planning your days so you can maximise time on campus can really help.

"The nutritional advice we get is very helpful in terms of meal planning throughout the week, and the coaching staff are incredibly understanding of all the different commitments that we have to deal with.

"I don’t want to look too far ahead, so my ambitions at the moment are to be selected for, and to win a medal at the U21 European Championships this summer. Another ambition is to recreate this season with the university side and win another BUCS gold and retain our premier league status for another year."
