"My dad and older brother played cricket so I started joining in and my passion for the sport developed from there.

"It was pretty tough combining studying and training. In my first and second year, I spent almost every other weekend in Loughborough so in my third year I actually took a break from England training to complete my law degree. It was a bit of a risk, no one had done it before, but in the long run it didn’t hurt and I was able to complete my degree and still get back with the team.

"I wanted to come to Exeter because it was a great course, I liked the city and felt like I fitted in on campus straight away. Also the cricket programme was one of the best around and I had a really great time there.

"The scholarship made a huge difference to me. There’s no way I could’ve balanced my law degree, cricket and a job. So the scholarship meant a great deal and it wouldn’t have been possible to get where I am without the support I’ve received."
