The jump from GCSE to A level is often an uncomfortable one and the jump from A level to undergraduate is no less difficult. After completing the Exeter Progression Programme I am confident in their use of the word progression. In order to be successful in your first year of your degree you first need to feel like you belong there and the Exeter Progression programme will offer you that experience.
It has allowed me to experience areas of physics I never thought I would be able to learn about despite not taking physics as an A level. In doing so I have been able to make links and connections to my current maths studies with my new found physics knowledge.
The course reflected the style of teaching methods used at university – I found this provided me with the knowledge of whether studying for a degree is for me, regardless of the subject chosen.
The programme allowed me to meet new people who were in the same boat as me. This gave me confidence that I wasn’t alone in my anxieties about the transition to university and helped me to develop as a person.
