Lecture

Second Year direct entry now CLOSED for entry 2013.

Before you read further, note that we do not usually take transfers from students currently studying for a degree at another university unless, for example, there are mitigating circumstances which require residence to be near Exeter.

You may be able to start a Flexible Combined Honours (FCH) degree as a second year student if you have appropriate prior qualifications or learning. This means your FCH degree takes two, rather than the usual three years.

There are many possibilities for appropriate qualifications, e.g.:

  • you have completed a number of relevant courses with the Open University
  • you have completed a relevant university certificate consisting of 120 level 1 credits
  • you have appropriate professional qualifications
  • you already have a university degree

Each is considered on a case-by-case basis.

Please contact us to talk through possibilities.

General information about prior qualifications and their suitability for admission to the University is available from our Admissions team.

We welcome enquiries about applying to FCH, and the degree in general, at any point in the year.
