Final year programme - Flexible Combined Honours

African anthropologyThere are no compulsory anthropology modules during the final year.

Anthropology-related modules are chosen from those available within the Department of Sociology and Philosophy or elsewhere, e.g.:

  • The Politics of Nature: people, time, resources - ANT3001 (30 credits)
  • Gender and Society, Body and Sexuality in Contemporary Perspective - SOC3016 (30 credits)
  • Anthropology of Europe - SOC3054 (30 credits)
  • Culture and Society - SOC3075 (30 credits)
  • Gender and Geography - GEO3101 (15 credits)
  • Senses and Spatialities of the Body - GEO3124 (15 credits)
  • Folklore and Identity in the Middle East - ARA3152 (15 credits)
  • Connectivity: the Archaeology of South Asia and the Indian Ocean - ARC3521 (15 credits)
  • Archaeology and Social Anthropology - ARC3608 (15 credits)

to make a total of 60 credits in this half of the overall Flexible Combined Honours degree programme.

More than 60 credits of anthropology can be taken each year, if sufficient relevant modules are available, so that this becomes the main element of your degree title.
