Final year programme - Flexible Combined Honours
There are no compulsory History modules during the final year.
Modules are chosen from those available, e.g.:
- Dissertation - HIH3005 (30 credits). Requires Doing History: Perspectives on Sources - HIH2001 to have been taken in year 2, otherwise FCH Independent Study on a history subject can be taken instead of a History dissertation in the final year.
- A History Special Subject pair of modules (30+30 credits)
- Varieties of History modules (30 credits each)
- ...there are many Specials and Varieties to choose from, and they vary each year. A full list is available on the History department's options web page (scroll down this list to the HIH modules)
to make a total of 60 credits in this half of the overall Flexible Combined Honours degree programme.
FCH students are allowed to take a maximum of 90 credits of History each year, provided there are sufficient spaces on modules.
