Final year programme

Lady Warsi - number 10There are no compulsory final year modules.

You are encouraged to do a dissertation, but it is optional. Select one of several possibilities for a dissertation:

The other credits are chosen from level 3 modules available in:

  • Politics
  • Philosophy
  • Economics
  • ...there are many modules to choose from, and they vary each year
  • 30 credits can also be taken outside of these areas, e.g. to study a language

Important notes:

  • You need a total of 120 credits.
  • There should be an equal distribution across the three subject areas. It could affect your degree title if this is not the case.
  • No more than 60 credits can be selected from one department, as this is an interdisciplinary degree programme.
  • At least 90 credits must be at level 3. This means that you could take some level 2 modules as well as level 3 modules.
  • You cannot take level 1 modules unless there is a significant academic reason and this is approved by the FCH Director.

If you need help selecting modules etc, please contact the FCH Director.
