First year programme - Flexible Combined Honours
There is one compulsory English module during the first year:
- Beginnings: English Literature before 1800 - EAS1035 (30 credits) (term 1)
and 30 credits are chosen from level one English modules available, e.g.:
- Approaches to Criticism - EAS1032 (30 credits) (terms 1 and 2)
- Critical Practice - EAS1033 (15 credits) (term 1)
- The Poem - EAS1038 (15 credits) (term 2)
- Film Studies: An Introduction - EAS1034 (15 credits) (term 2)
- Introduction to Creative Writing - EAS1031 (15 credits) (term 2)
- Shakespeare - EAS1036 (15 credits) (term 2)
- The Novel - EAS1037 (15 credits) (term 2)
to make a total of 60 credits in this half of the overall Flexible Combined Honours degree programme.
FCH students are allowed to take a maximum of 90 credits of English each year, provided there are sufficient spaces on modules.
