GermanyFirst year programme - Flexible Combined Honours

One compulsory German module is taken during the first year:

Either (for those with German A-Level):

  • German Language, Written and Oral - MLG1001 (30 credits) (terms 1 and 2)

Or (for those beginning German):

  • German Language for Beginners - MLG1052 (30 credits) (terms 1 and 2)

If you want to take 60 credits of German studies, rather than just the 30 language credits, you can choose an option module from those available that year:

  • War, Passion and Possibly Love: Approaches to Genre in German Literature - MLG1016 (15 credits)
  • Turning Points in German History 1200 - 2000 - MLG1017 (15 credits)
  • A Nation Remembers: Issues in German Cultural Memory - MLG1014 (15 credits)

to make a total of 60 credits in this half of the overall Flexible Combined Honours degree programme.
