First year programme - Flexible Combined Honours

Noruz, the Zoroastrian New Year and the first day of spring, is celebrated by Iraq’s Kurds every year on March 21Two compulsory Kurdish modules are taken in the first year:

  • Kurdish I (Kurmanji) - ARA1026 (15 credits)
  • Kurdish Culture and Society - ARA1027 (15 credits)

and two modules are chosen from those available, e.g.:

  • Politics and Economy of the Contemporary Middle East - ARA1010 (15 credits)
  • Introduction to Islam - ARA1018 (15 credits)
  • Introduction to Islamic Archaeology - ARA1030 (15 credits)

to make a total of 60 credits in this half of the overall Flexible Combined Honours degree programme.
