EmployersEmployers' Views

It is highly recommended that you undertake Independent Study or a departmental dissertation during your FCH programme.

Employers like students to have undertaken such modules at university as it is an excellent demonstration of the student's ability to work and research under their own initiative, and produce a coherent 'report' of their findings.

In short, it parallels a typical employment scenario.

You can show a copy of your Independent Study or dissertation at a job interview to impress! We know of students who have successfully done this.
