Second year programme - Flexible Combined Honours

An old Kurdish man reads Kurdistan's favourite newspaper, Hawlati.Three compulsory modules are taken:

  • Kurdish 2 (Sorani) - ARA2156 (15 credits)
  • Kurdish 2 (Kurmanji) - ARA2157 (15 credits)
  • The Middle East in the Twentieth Century: Colonialism, Revolution and beyond - ARA2131 (15 credits)

and one module is chosen from those available, e.g.:

  • Gender-Identity and Modernity in the Middle East - ARA2118 (15 credits)
  • Society and Empire in the Modern Middle East, 1798-1914 - ARA2130 (15 credits)
  • Islamist Movements: From the Muslim Brothers to Al-Qa'ida - ARA2160 (15 credits)

to make a total of 60 credits in this half of the overall Flexible Combined Honours degree programme.
