I joined the University in October 1998 having previously worked in Procurement in manufacturing and the NHS. In my current role as Deputy Head of Procurement I manage a team of Procurement Officers who support the delivery of strategic projects and high value/high risk purchases for the University whilst realising cash savings & efficiencies in the course of this work. I am experienced in delivering projects for joint ventures and partner organisations and managing external consultants as part of this work. I chair the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium’s Travel Group, whose primary responsibility is the tender & management of contracts to supply professional travel management services [business and student travel] to the HE Sector across the UK. These contracts have achieved a spend of £30m over the first 9 months of 2012/13.
