Procurement Training

Procurement training courses are available for departmental buyers to understand the University's Financial and Procurement regulations and why it is important to carry out compliant competition processes.

 

New Procurement Workshops coming soon in 2013!

Following the valuable feedback comments received from delegates who attended the Introduction to Procurement course, we have developed a series of intermediate level ‘How To...’ workshops, aimed to give people a more in-depth understanding of the tendering and supplier management process.

All procurement exercises (whether these are lower value RFQ’s or high value ITT’s) have a defined procurement cycle which can be expressed in four pillars – ‘Prepare’, ‘Compete’, ‘Contract’ & ‘Manage’. 

 

How To... Prepare (3 hours)

Date: 22nd January 2013
Time: 0930 - 1230
Location:  Mardon Hall Training Suite

 

Who is it for?

This course is for University staff that support/run competitive buying exercises (Request for Quotations – RFQ/Invitation to Tender - ITT).

What is it about?

This course introduces ‘Prepare’ and what stages need to be followed in order to fully prepare all documentation and the specification to ensure the procurement process is efficient as possible and provides the best Value for Money outcome for your College or Service.

 

How To... Compete & How To... Contract (7 hours)

 

Date: 28th January 2013
Time:  0930 – 1630 (lunch will be provided)
Location:  Mardon Hall Training Suite

 

Who is it for?

This course is for University staff who regularly undertake tenders and award contracts for goods, works and/or services for the University.

What is it about?

This day-long course introduces the ‘Compete’ and ‘Contract’ elements and covers what stages need to be followed in order to fully compete and put in place robust contracts for your procurements to ensure the procurement process is efficient as possible and provides the best Value for Money outcome for your College or Service.

 

How To... Manage (3 hours)

 

Date: 1st February 2013
Time:   0930 - 1230
Location:  Mardon Hall Training Suite

 

Who is it for?

This course is for University staff that are required to manage delivery of goods, services and works and require supplier relationships to be monitored and developed.

What is it about?

This course introduces ‘Manage’ and what stages need to be followed to monitor the delivery of goods, services and works and develop key supplier relationships that provide the best Value for Money outcome for the University.
