CHARTER DAY SPECTACULAR

If your end-of-year plans could bring you to Exeter, please join the celebration of the University’s Golden Jubilee on the evening of Wednesday 21 December. The event marks 50 years to the day of the granting of the Royal Charter, which turned the University College of the South West in to the University of Exeter.

The highlight of the evening will be a firework display preceded by a torch-lit academic procession in Exeter City Centre. There will also be street entertainers in Catherine Square/Bedford Square who will add to the festive air.

Details of the evening’s schedule are below

6.00pm
Street entertainers and Food conessions available in Bedford/Catherine Square.

6.45pm
Procession departs Southgate Hotel to Bedford Square, via Southernhay, Cathedral Yard, and the High Street

7.20pm
Procession arrives at Bedford Square: fireworks and celebrations announced

7.30pm
Fireworks, fired from the roof of Debenhams
