Check your eligibility
You should not take receipt of your invitation to mean that you have successfully completed your programme of study. If you have any queries regarding your course and whether you will qualify to attend, please contact your department or Registry Services/the Academic Support Unit in the first instance. Only those completing a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate are eligible to attend.
If you are a research student, the examination process must be completed by 20 June 2012, with any minor or major corrections approved by your Examiner(s) and a copy of your final thesis and completed examiner's report form submitted to the Postgraduate Admin team by this date; if you are a taught student you must have completed all elements of your programme and have had your marks moderated by an examination board by 20 June 2012.
If you are in debt to the University you will be unable to graduate. Please ensure that any outstanding amounts are cleared before 20 June 2012. The student finance office can be contacted on https://my.exeter.ac.uk/exeter/student/support, or call SID on 01392 723409.
Confirm your personal details
Please check that we have your correct full name and home address on our records via the MyExeter portal, if we do not please update them. Should you have any concerns relating to the pronunciation of your name and would like to provide a phonetic guide for use during the ceremony you will be invited to do so during the registration process.
Register to attend and request guest tickets
Registration for the Summer 2012 graduation ceremonies.
To register click here and you will be taken to the MyExeter page. Please log in, click on the student records link and follow the on screen instructions for graduation registration.
When registering you should indicate whether you wish to attend the graduation ceremony or whether you would prefer to graduate in absentia (if you choose to graduate in absentia you will not be able to attend a ceremony). It is important that you do not wait for confirmation of your award before completing this process.
You will be able to update your address and personal email address so that we can keep in touch with you after graduation and keep you updated with networking opportunities and events, including careers events in London and socials exclusively for recent alumni. You can also sign up to our exclusive Exeter network, Exonline, which can provide you with opportunities to network with alumni and get great advice from experts as you start your career.
Guest tickets
As seating is limited, we can only guarantee each graduand two guest tickets. You may request additional guest tickets, but please be aware these are in very short supply and we cannot guarantee their availability. There will be a charge of £10 per extra ticket (the 2 guaranteed are free of charge). Extra tickets, if available, will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so the sooner you request your guest tickets, the more chance you have of being allocated these. If your application for extra tickets is successful, we will advise you after 15th June on how to pay for them. Please let us know about any special needs your guests may have when ordering tickets online. We are able to allocate disabled parking spaces and reserved seating wherever possible.
Guests without tickets for the main venue can watch the ceremony from the live video link on campus. They will then be able to join the graduand for the College reception after the ceremony, which is open to all and free of charge.
Receiving your tickets
We will post your ceremony tickets (which shows your seat number) and any guest tickets to graduands' home addresses in early July. Exeter students with a non-UK address should collect their tickets from the SID desk in the Forum from the first week in July 2012 (office hours only), or from the Graduation Information Desk in the Forum on the day of the ceremony. Graduands in Cornwall with a non-UK address will be able to collect tickets from the ASU the week before the ceremonies, or on the day from the Graduation Information Desk in Level 3 Foyer, Daphne du Maurier Building. Please note that tickets for graduands with a home address in the Channel Islands or Ireland will not be posted.
