Overview

Role

My role is focused on supporting research in the areas of Defence, Security and Conflict (DSC).

I sit within the Innovation, Impact and Business (IIB) Directorate and work across Cornwall and Devon campuses to develop research partnerships between industry, government bodies and the University that can lead to collaborative projects and wider impact beyond academia.

I am responsible for income generation, developing relationships, managing participation in DSC related Frameworks and supporting the development of REF impact case studies with academics across disciplines.  Additionally I support the Strategy and Security Institute - an interdisciplinary research centre carrying out research, consultancy, teaching and Executive Education in the field of global security and strategy.

Profile

I have worked for the University in various business-facing roles on projects that drive entrepreneurialism, regional economic growth and innovation.  Prior to this work, I worked for Blackwell Publishing, marketing professional and scientific journals and taught English as a Foreign Language in Japan.
