Student-Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC)

INTO University of Exeter are committed to enabling all students to communicate their views and suggestions to influence changes to our policies and procedures.

To facilitate this, INTO has a Student-Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC) for each programme which gives students the opportunity to voice their opinions about studying with us and to comment on a wide range of academic issues and possible developments. SSLCs adhere to the Code of Practice laid down in the Teaching Quality Assurance Manual, which includes a standard agenda. The Programme Office provides administrative support for this Committee.

Each SSLC is presided over by a Subject Chair (a student elected by the Students’ Guild) and composed of elected student representatives from each class and appropriate staff representatives. Training and support for Subject Chairs is provided by the Students’ Guild.

INTO Programme Managers meet with SSLC Subject Chairs on a regular basis, and Subject Chairs sit on INTO College Boards of Studies, INTO Education Committee and INTO Programme meetings.
