Insessional module coordinator
Allison teaches and coordinates English for General Academic Purposes on the Insessional programme. She has responsibility for development and enhancement of provision in the College of Social Sciences and International Studies and supports the PGT students of Arab and Islamic Studies, Politics, Sociology and Philosophy (CSSIS) in English for Specific Academic Purposes. She also teaches on the credit-rated Reading and Writing module and provides one-to-one writing tutorials.
Allison has experience of teaching in the UK, Europe and S. E. Asia, including preparing university lecturers for postgraduate studies at tertiary institutions in the U.K/USA. She also has many years of experience in designing teaching materials. She has a degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Manchester and a MEd in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of Exeter.
Her current EAP interests include academic discourse, EAP methodology and theories of learning.
