Level 2 Module
Each term is based around an assignment. In the first term as part of the TESOL input sessions you will participate in 4 one hour classes as a beginner student of an unknown language and consider the methodology used by the teacher, the experience as a learner and the differences between the target language and English in a reflective piece of writing for the assignment: Unknown Language Journal. In the second term the work revolves around a major assignment: Learner Profile. For this you will have a number of one-to-one meetings with an international student in order to carry out a needs analysis, plan and teach a one-to-one lesson, and design a proposed personalised scheme of work. This will then be written up for the second assignment. At this level there is only one practically based task: peer group teaching of a grammar point. There are two assessed teaching practices with international students.
