Bar Council of India grants recognition of the Exeter LLB
Bar Council of India grants recognition of the Exeter LLB
The Bar Council of India has announced that the undergraduate Exeter LLB degree is fully recognised according to the Advocates Act 1961.
Recognition by the Bar Council of India enables Indian Students to practice law back in India once they have completed their studies at the University of Exeter - a Russell Group university.
A delegation from the Bar Council visited Exeter in early 2012 to inspect the University's School of Law. The delegation was particularly impressed with Exeter's research strengths and the facilities on offer, including the Lasok Law Library (40,000 volumes).
The recognition is also of strategic importance to the growing research and student exchange links between Exeter and the National Law School of India University in Bangalore, and Exeter's wider teaching and research engagement across India.
