How does registration work?

There are two different registration processes you will need to complete soon after your arrival:

  1. Registering as a University of Exeter student - all international students who are in the UK on a Tier 4 student visa or student visitor visa MUST have their passport checked before they are allowed to register as an Exeter student.  Once you have been cleared to register you will be given your university ID card and with your Exeter ID number and your card number you will be able to activate your IT account online and access your MyExeter portal.  Please note that activating your IT account does not mean you are registered.  Log on to MyExeter, click on the Student Record tab, and follow the registration instructions.  You will then be a registered University of Exeter student and you should receive an email in your Exeter inbox confirming this.
  2. Registering for modules - you will be allocated a home department/College and you will meet with your Study Abroad co-ordinator during Orientation to confirm your module selection.  Your Study Abroad Co-ordinator will act as your academic adviser during your time at Exeter.  You will be given a module registration form listing your modules and each module will need to be signed off by the co-ordinator.  Please note that if you are taking module in other departments/College you will need to obtain the signature of the appropriate co-ordinator.
