Siriporn Sakulruangrak, MSc Financial Management
"I was accepted by all the employers I applied to, and chose Krung-Thai Asset Management, a state-owned company, where I was Provident Fund Officer for two years. My department director told me that I was learning the business faster than my peers due to my educational background in Finance. I was made team leader after 2 months, and my financial knowledge made me confident to meet and explain the economic situation to my clients. I was on track for promotion to Senior Fund Officer after 2 years, but left to manage my family business.
My Exeter classmates and I did everything together: study, cooking, travelling. We are still in contact via MSN and I meet very frequently with my Thai colleagues, and with my international friends whenever we visit each other's countries. I was lonely in my first month, but made so many friends from around the world and had great support from SoBE staff. My time in Exeter was too short!"
Annuwat Wattanawan, MSc in Environmental Management
"My first degree was from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, in the area of Mining Engineering. After graduation, I worked at Department of Primary Industries and Mines, Ministry of Industry, and then I was awarded a scholarship from the Department to study in the area of Environmental Management or related fields.
I decided to further my studies in the University of Exeter because of the excellence of the academic institute and the superb research facilities. The Tremough campus, in which I do my study, is situated in Cornwall, south-western UK, surrounded by a very nice and encouraging environment. Moreover, the city is very beautiful and every people are friendly. For me, it is the best decision in my life to study here."
