Saudi Arabia

The University of Exeter has approximately 19,000 full time students, 25% of whom are international. A thriving multi-national community of staff and students from over 130 countries ensures you will receive a warm welcome whichever programme you study.

The University has a long history of friendship and collaborative scholarship with the Middle East. There are currently about 70 students at the University of Exeter from Saudi Arabia, studying across a wide range of subjects, with Education, Law and Arab & Islamic Studies proving especially popular.

Exeter is particularly famous for its Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies.  We have been teaching Arabic to British students since 1971, and offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Islamic Studies and Middle East Studies.  The Institute houses the Gulf Documentation Centre, while the University Library hold about 30,000 specialist volumes on the Middle East.  The Institute is committed to promoting intercultural understanding, and  since 2003, through the generosity of His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed Al Saud, has been able to offer financial support to postgraduates looking to spend part of their studies in the Arab world.
