Fee status

Students are classified as Home/EU or international students for the purpose of paying tuition fees at their point of application.  This decision is based on guidance from the UK government.  If you are unsure of your fee status please read the UKCISA guidance notes.

Tuition fees

Fees vary by programme and will be detailed in your offer letter.  Please note that fees are not fixed at the point of entry for all years of study.  For more information please see our student finance webpage.

Living expenses

The University recommends that single students allow £850 per month for their living expenses (inclusive of accommodation, food, books but not travel to/from the UK).  Accompanied students should allow additional resources for each dependant.  Applicants requiring a visa to study in the UK for themselves and/or their dependants should familiarise themselves with the UKBA's financial requirements, for more information please see our immigration advice webpage.

Scholarships

International students are eligible to apply for many of the University's scholarships and bursaries.  For further information please visit our scholarship search engine.  The British Council can also provide more information about funding schemes for students from your country.

Funding for students from Syria, Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon

The University co-operates with the Said Foundation to offer Said Foundation Scholarships to Jordanian, Lebanese, Syrian or Palestinian (including Palestinians inside Israel) nationals who are resident in the Middle East.  The scheme is able to provide full or matched funding for taught masters or masters by research.  In order to apply for funding you must return a Said Foundation application form to the British Council office in Amman, Beirut, Damascus, East Jerusalem or Gaza by 31 January.  Ideally you will have applied to the University for your preferred course of study before this date.  Further information about the scheme is available here: http://www.saidfoundation.org/whatwedo/masters.shtml.
