International Summer School

Arrival in the UK

The International Summer School programme begins with a three day stay in London commencing on 5 July.

When should I arrive on 5 July?

The first event of the International Summer School is an evening meal on Saturday 5 July when we will be giving out important orientation information – you should be at the hotel by 6pm on the 5 July in order to attend the meal.

On arrival in the UK, you have two options on how to join the International Summer School.  You can either:

  • Take one of the International Summer School coaches from London Heathrow Airport (Terminal 3) leaving at 2.00pm and 3.00pm on 5th July which will take you to the hotel.  University of Exeter staff and buddies will be at the Airport from 12pm.  If you intend to use this service email iss@exeter.ac.uk and we will allocate you to one of the coaches.
  • Join us directly at the hotel from 3.30pm on 20th July where there will be University of Exeter staff and buddies to greet you and issue keys.  The hotel you will be staying at is the Travelodge Covent Garden. Travel by public transport to Covent Garden Underground Station could not be easier, with a direct underground train from Heathrow airport to the station. The Travelodge hotel is a five minute walk from the station.

Full arrival instructions and travel information will be sent out on registration to the course.

Will there be any University of Exeter staff in London?

You will be accompanied throughout your stay in London by University staff and student buddies and coach transport will be provided from London to Exeter, so you can relax and enjoy the visit!
