Check your immigration requirements Before application
Budget for your life in Exeter When you make your application to study
Make sure your passport is valid/apply for a new passport  
Obtain any necessary visa/entry clearance for study in the UK When you receive your visa letter

Apply for accommodation

As soon as you have accepted an offer to study. Application deadline 31st July.
If you are coming for Welcome Week, read through all of the Orientation & Registration information. Book onto the Airport Collection Service Details available from June. Meet and Greet booking closes in September.
If you are travelling independently to the campuses check your travel plans
Details available all year
Arrange your travel and travel insurance. Remember to check your luggage allowance This can be 6 weeks before departure
Get a letter from your doctor detailing any regular medication you are on and bring a translation of the letter 6 weeks before departure
Have any routine medical checks, recommended vaccinations and chest x-ray (if required)  
Speak to your bank: do you need approval of exchange control, order traveller's cheques or enough sterling for your first week 6 weeks before departure
Start to pack appropriate clothing for your first few weeks in the UK (see the International Students' Guide for advice) Start 4 weeks before departure
