‘It’s an experience of a lifetime! I was able to learn not only from the professors and seminars, but also from the other students and staff. I made connections spanning the globe that I’ll treasure for a very long time. I’m so thankful for the opportunity and that I chose to take it!’

Summer with the University of Exeter

Join us this summer for an interactive series of events that will encourage and enable you to make connections across the world, learn more about the University of Exeter, learn more about the UK, and learn more about the world in general. This is open for any student from anywhere in the world and can be attended alongside or separate to an International Summer School academic course.

The activities will include live and pre-recorded events that will encourage you to develop both soft skills and study skills as well as help you learn more about future studies, the UK in general and, most importantly, learn and teach each other about the world around you.

All activities are a mixture of live and pre-recorded content with live sessions available via recording post event.

Explore the University of Exeter

Take the opportunity to learn more about your potential in education! Activities will be delivered by colleagues and students from across the University and will include the following areas of focus:

  • Closer look at the International Summer School on campus
  • Postgraduate studies at the University of Exeter
  • Postgraduate studies in general
  • Study Skills
  • Top tips for your career after education

Explore the UK

While the summer programme on campus may not be able to go ahead, we thought we would take the opportunity to share our summer experiences with you and give you a glimpse of places and culture to experience around the South West of the UK

Planned trips include:

  • Exeter
  • Falmouth
  • St Ives
  • Bath
  • Dartmoor National Park

As well as virtual trips, we are also planning on some entertaining cultural activities such as the Great Exeter Bake Off (no prizes for guessing where the idea comes from!) and the traditional classic Pub Quiz. While there is still some uncertainty regarding theatre and live events, if these are still running as virtual events, the programme will also include an official viewing of a Shakespeare play from the Globe Theatre amongst other activities.

Explore the World

One of the greatest benefits of joining a programme that is offered around the world is the chance to interact and learn from other cultures. While international travel may be difficult for many of us this year, we can visit as many countries as our students will show us. This includes different events from virtual tours of places around the world to cooking or dancing classes!  Take the opportunity this summer to join in with events designed to give you room to show your culture and opinions and learn from others in a safe space.
