Voicemail

Messenger+ is the University voicemail system with enhanced benefits over the old system.

Benefits of Messenger+

  • Each voicemail greeting is already personalised to each user. Personalised greetings can be recorded if required.
  • Email notifications include voicemail message. Listen to voicemails via your PC, Mac, Deskphone, phone or mobile.
  • Email notifications sent from callers email address if known.

Every telephone extension on the telephone directory is automatically setup on Messenger+

If your name is not assigned to an extension on the telephone directory please go to SID to add your name to the telephone directory.

Extensions by default are forwarded to Messenger+ on no answer and engaged tone.

  • Dial 5700 (Internally) or press the voicemail key (envelope) on your desk phone, or dial 01392 725700 (Externally). This replaces 3111.
  • When asked for your user ID enter your desk extension number followed by #
  • When asked for your PIN number enter your PIN . Your PIN will be 0000 until changed.

Forwarding all calls immediately to Messenger+ can be setup with the following.

  • Press FWD
  • Enter 5700
  • Press FWD

Analogue extensions are required to be diverted to Messenger+. Please see Analogue features for diverting an analogue phone to Messenger+

Please note to clear the message waiting lamp on your desk phone you will need to dial into voicemail (5700) and delete any new messages. If you do not clear your message waiting lamp from your phone by calling 5700, your voicemail account will eventually become full and you will no longer receive new messages.

  • Dial 5700 (Internally) or press the voicemail key (envelope) on your desk phone, or dial 01392 725700 (Externally).
  • When asked for your user ID enter your desk extension number followed by #
  • When asked for your PIN number enter your PIN. Your PIN will be 0000 until changed.
  • New messages will be played automatically.
  • To delete a message press 4 during or after listening to the message.

If you have no new messages you will hear the following announcement “you have no new messages”. Your voicemail account will now be empty.
