Research Technician at the Living Systems Institute working under the supervision of Dr. Akshay Bhinge, focused on understanding the molecular networks underlying neurodegeneration in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Research involves culturing and maintaining patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), genome editing using CRISPR-Cas9, differentiation of iPSCs into disease-relevant neural cells such as motor neurons and characterising these cells using cellular and molecular biology assays such as immunostaining and quantitative RT-PCR.
Previously obtained an MSc from the University of Nottingham, completing a thesis on the role of neural stem cells in the distinct metabolism of glioblastoma at the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre.
