Referrals

Referrals to the AccEPT Clinic

As the AccEPT Clinic is uncertain about its funding position we are not currently accepting referrals to our Service at this time.  If you have any questions about this please contact us at accept.clinic@nhs.net.

If you are a potential referrer to the AccEPT Clinic (i.e. a GP or Mental Health Professional) and would like more information you can email us at accept.clinic@nhs.net or telephone 01392 723493.  Please find below a copy of our referral form for you to complete and email or post with any further information.

Please ensure that the form is completed with as much information as possible to ensure that we are able to direct and advise the referral appropriately.

If you are considering referring somebody for a therapy or project other than Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and have any questions, please contact on either the number or email address above; we will be able to confirm whether this therapy / project is currently available and the appropriate referral process.

Clinic Referral Form

If you are a potential patient interested in joining one of our Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) groups you can refer yourself by completing an online referral form and emailing it to us at accept.clinic@nhs.net

AccEPT Clinic Referral Form

If you do not feel comfortable sending personal information by email let us know and we will send you an encrypted email so you are able to return the form to us securely. Alternatively you can post your referral form to us at Mood Disorders Centre, Sir Henry Wellcome Building, University of Exeter, Exeter, Devon, EX4 4QG.

Once we have received your referral we will be in touch to discuss the referral further. Please note that we only offer a self-referral service for our MBCT treatment at this time.

If you would like to speak to us about a referral or have any questions about being referred to us please do not hesitate to contact us.

Before sending a referral please do check that this is the right form of treatment for you at this time by reading about our criteria. ‌

After an initial referral has been made via self-refferal to the clinic by a GP or other Mental Health Professional, if it is appropriate patients will either be offered treatment or be contacted by telephone to check that the therapies we offer would be appropriate for them. MBCT treatment begins with an individual “orientation” session for all participants to further discuss the MBCT programme and what it involves.
