Knightley, located in Streatham Drive is the home of the Music Office. The 3 ensemble rooms and 6 practice rooms in Knightley can be booked for use by Music Card holders. Use of the Early Music Attic and the Library must all be booked in advance via the Music Office.

Knightley has a modest music library with an extensive collection of vintage vinyl recordings of a wide range of music genres (and the facility to play them), a cluster of computers loaded with the usual Microsoft software and Sibelius music notation software, as well as facilities to print and photocopy.

Please note: no amplified music may be practiced in Knightley.


 

How to book a room in Knightley

Practice rooms within Knightley can be booked for use by individuals who hold a valid Music Card up to eight weeks in advance. Bookings are made on a first-come, first-choice basis by entering your name and your reservation time on the room booking sheets on display on the noticeboard in the foyer. Each A4 sheet represents a week, so rooms can be booked up to eight weeks in advance.

Use by groups or ensembles is permitted providing each member of the group has purchased a Music Card.

If you come to use a practice room in Knightley on an ad-hoc basis, please still enter your reservation on the booking sheets, as they are used to quantify the use of the facilities and judge the demand throughout the year.
