Catering team cook up a storm for Summer Graduation

A team of dedicated University of Exeter caterers has put the icing on the cake for thousands of students, parents and honoured guests, at the Summer Graduation celebrations.

The graduation catering team has whipped up a series of culinary delights for people who have attended the ceremonies at the Streatham Campus over the course of Graduation week.

As well as baking 14,000 distinctive celebration cupcakes, the team has served 22,500 glasses of bubbly, prepared and served 56,000 canapés and cheerily manned the Pimm’s Marquee on the Forum Piazza. The team has also catered for a series of VIP lunches attended by the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor and Honorary Graduates.

Adam Akyol, the Functions, Events and Fresh Ideas Manager, praised the hard work, dedication and commitment displayed by the team.

He said: “This really has been a military operation to have it all come together correctly. Graduation is a time for celebration for everyone involved, and we are delighted to have been able to play a small part in making it a time our students, honoured guests and their families will truly remember.”
