Exeter retains position in world top 150, according to influential rankings

Exeter has retained its position in the top 150 universities in the world, in the latest influential league table.

Exeter is ranked 141st in the world in the latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings, released today (Wednesday, September 26th).

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are based 12 separate performance measures covering all of the core missions of a world class university and grouped into five areas – teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.

These are the latest rankings this year that reflect Exeter’s position amongst the world’s leading universities.

Recently, the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2018 saw the University retain its place amongst the top 200 ranked global institutions, while Exeter was also ranked sixth in the UK, ninth in Europe and 35th in the world in the CWTS Leiden Ranking 2018, which offers key insights into the scientific performance of the major universities worldwide.

Exeter is also ranked 154th in the QS World University Rankings 2019, the largest and most extensive international league table, while 13 subjects are now positioned in the world’s top 100 – with eight in the top 50 – according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject.
