Sport and Health Sciences researchers use cutting-edge facilities

Exeter tops tables for sports science

Exeter is the best university in the UK for sports science, according to two major league tables.

Exeter tops the list in both the Complete University Guide and the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019, which was published last week.

The tables use measures including student experience/satisfaction, research quality and graduate prospects in producing the rankings.

“I am absolutely delighted that Exeter tops the rankings for sports science in these key league tables,” said Dr Joanna Bowtell, head of Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Exeter.

“We attribute much of this success to the excellent experience that we provide for our students, as well as the great employment prospects for our graduates.”

Exeter topped the Complete University Guide list for sports science, while top spot on the Good University Guide was shared with the University of Bath.

Sport and Health Sciences at Exeter offers an inspirational, challenging and rewarding learning experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

“Our globally renowned Sport and Health Sciences researchers are addressing some of the most fundamental health challenges facing the world as well as working with leading athletes to push the boundaries of human performance,” Dr Bowtell said.

Overall, the Good University Guide 2019 rates Exeter as the best university in the South West, and 12th in the UK.
