Associate Professor Chris Button from the University of Otago, will be giving a seminar titled: "Cold Shock and Distance Perception in Open Water Environments ".
Biography: Chris Button has been at the University of Otago since 2003 having worked before that in Edinburgh and Manchester Metropolitan University. His disciplinary expertise is in Motor Learning although his research encompasses a range of other disciplines including Biomechanics, Psychology, Physiology and Sociology. His specific research interests include skilled movement adaptation, gaze behaviour and decision making. Chris is an Executive Committee member of the Australasian Skill Acquisition Research Group and he is an Associate Editor of the European Journal of Sport Science. Whilst in NZ, Chris has provided consultancy with several sports and national governing bodies including Water Safety NZ, Snowsports, Football, and Motorsport. Although NZ is his new home, he actually grew up 15 mins down the road in Honiton!
