Abstract

There is evidence that rates of depression are rising, particularly among young people and women. In this talk, Dr Lewis will discuss: 

• The importance of primary prevention

• The potential importance and impact of universal whole-school interventions

• Potential risk and protective factors that universal whole-school interventions could target, including:

  • Academic pressure
  • Inclusivity and acceptance of diverse sexual and gender identities
  • Physical activity
